Young's Modulus (E) is a material property that describes how easily something can stretch and deform.
Stress refers to the force applied to an object. Strain refers to the deformation of the object caused by stress. Tensile refers to stress that elongates the material--think of it as pulling or stretching material, such as a rope. Young's Modulus allows us to predict the behavior of the wood selected for our guitar, particularly when it is subjected to force.
